Ye olde village at Westfield is now celebrating his 200th birthday and in his honor, this year’s Dickens Days celebration even welcomes his great-grandson, Gerald Charles Dickens to town on Decemebr 2nd for his third performance of Scrooge’s ghostly tale. Exclusively designed for WOW by Byers’ Choice, Ltd of Chalfont Pennsylvania, Tom Whippersnapper, the 2011 town crier, proudly proclaims that Charles Dickens, the noted British author, will read from his acclaimed story, “A Christmas Carol,” during Dickens Days at ye olde village of Westfield. Okay, so Mr. Dickens never actually appeared here. (Hartford was the closest place he got during his tours of America.) Still, his spirit infuses Whip City, every year when WOW merrily produces the Dickens Days calendar of sparkling events. (Unfortunately, we have a very few of Tom in stock, making him an extremely sought-after holiday collectible)
